I'm a young professional in Chicago and recently thought to myself "I really want to meet people but am over the bar/club scene. Why not start a social board game group." Thus this group was born, and YOU are invited. Come to a Friendly Games Meetup twice a month to play old favorites with new friends around your age. All games and skill levels are welcome, although we have a soft spot for Euro-style games like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne. Bring your favorite board games, card games, word games, etc. You can teach us or we can learn that new game together. You can also just hang out and socialize with a fun group of people. This group is open to anyone 25+ who enjoys board games, whether you are from the Chicagoland area or just passing through and looking for a fun evening activity. The goal is to create a small, fun group that can really get to know each other and have a great time. I hope to see you there!
Regular meetup (every 3rd Sunday of the month) for Abstract Strategy Games lovers in London! Everyone is welcome, join, bring your games or try the ones we have, play and have a drink :) (free of charge) We tend to play games for 2-players, with little luck and no hidden information (mostly but not exclusively). At the Amsterdam Board Gaming group we meet to play board games together. All skill levels are welcome, and feel free to bring your friends! Feel free to do any suggestions for the next evenings, so that we can also play your favorite board game. Every Wednesday we meet at the Roode Remise near the Westerpark. We can use half of this Café for our events, there is affordable beer and food, great ambience and 4.9 stars on Google. Every Thursday we meet at Hotel V at Frederiksplein, in the centre of Amsterdam. We use the lobby, which has a nice ambience and great snacks. As the board game evenings are organized every week there is a healthy mix of people who come on a regular basis, and people who are just starting to play boardgames. So if you are an active player or more casual there will always be enough people to play a board game with. We are looking forward to see you!

How to play: Backgammon is a two-player board game that combines strategy and luck. 1. Setup: Each player has 15 checkers, placed on a board with 24 triangular spaces called points. Players move in opposite directions, aiming to bring all their checkers (aka. stones or pieces) to their home board. 2. Rolling Dice: Players take turns rolling two six-sided dice. The numbers rolled determine how many points they can move their checkers. 3. Moving Checkers: A checker can only land on an open point (not occupied by two or more of the opponent's checkers). If a checker lands on a single opposing checker, it sends that checker to the bar, and it must re-enter the board before other moves. 4. Bearing Off: Once all of a player’s checkers are in their home board, they can start "bearing off," removing checkers based on dice rolls. 5. Winning: The first player to remove all their checkers wins the game. Hello budding/seasoned board gamers! We are a group of people who love to meet up and play board games. We normally play a wide range of games from High European strategy games like Agricola, Nemesis, etc, to the very light fun games like 6 Nimmit, Pictomania, etc. depending on our moods. Don’t worry if you’re new to the games - we are great explainers and will try to find a game to match your level. We meet weekly at the Bedford Public House, (normally upstairs in the Cocktail bar). We aim to start at 6pm, but this isn't hard and fast and go on until about 10 - 10:30, or just whenever you feel you've scratched your gaming itch! It isn't a problem if you can't be there right on 6pm, but please be aware that if you do turn up late games might already be in progress, and you might have to wait to join one. Please also remember to book in with the host for the evening, so they can mark you down as attended. Everybody is welcome and there is always a host on duty to assist you get into a game or tell you more about our group. Also we have seasoned members who have been to a good few events, they will (hopefully) be wearing a badge, so you could always ask them for info. Our current hosts are; Rocky Dori Michele Rafael (Rafa for short) Rakshita A few rules to follow; We don’t cater for two player games; we don’t really have the room for them. We are careful about social deduction games; the gaming space is small enough that a loud group will disrupt everyone. Check with a host to see if your game is okay. We don’t really play the older classics, like Monopoly or Scrabble; other clubs are around for these. We play for fun; winning is nice, but it isn’t everything. Try to treat others as you would like to be treated; we’ve all got a passion for games, maybe different games but still games. We are a group of game players and murder mystery solvers who love the social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower. If you're not familiar with Blood on the Clocktower no worries, we are here to welcome and teach anyone who would like to play. BoCT is a social deduction game similar but much better in many ways to Werewolf. There are two teams, a good team which consists of townsfolk that have special abilities and an evil team which is made up of a demon and its minions. The townsfolk are looking to execute the demon while the demon at night kills off the good team one by one until there is only one left. We have been meeting up and playing virtually for over the past year but now that the physical game is finally in the hands of its backers we are looking to play some in person games. Don't be intimidated, we are all a welcoming group of board gamers who love meeting new people to experience this game together. A typical group sized event would be anywhere from 10 to 15 people.

The object is to play Strategy Boardgames, typically Euro Games, such as Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ryde, Stone Age, Marco Polo, Concordia, Brass Birmingham etc. All welcome, beginners and experienced players. Probably not suitable for kids under 14 unless of course they are experienced players. Established players are encouraged to bring a selection of games and the games played will generally be decided by the various groups that form. Newcomers simply need to attach themselves to a group or a particular game that looks interesting. Whilst not intending to limit individual enjoyment, we do ask that all attendees behave in a manner that is polite, considerate and respectful of others. The purpose of this group is to provide a warm, safe and friendly forum for social gaming that is equally welcoming and fun for everyone. I have many more games on my shelf such as; Aeon Trespass Odyssey I've owned this game for several years, and it's my Holy Grail of board games. The studio has just released an incredible audio update, including voice acting, sound effects, and a captivating score. It's essentially a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' with epic boss battles. The depth of this game is mind-blowing. I'm thrilled at the prospect of playing it with one to three other enthusiasts. I'm quite familiar with the rules and eager to share the experience by teaching them. The link below showcases the game but it also shows the follow up game called Twelve Sins of Herakles. I of course backed that as well but it is currently being developed and won't be finished for another year or so. I do have the entirety of Aeon Trespass: Odyssey in hand of all five cycles. Kingdoms Forlorn: Dragons, Devils and Kings (all in pledge) (will be delivered Q1 2025) The beauty of this game is it shares a lot of similarities with Aeon Trespass Odyssey. If we learn ATO this game will be easy to pick up. Kingdom Death Monster 1.5 with update pack.

This is a group for board gaming nights in Brooklyn. All board gamers are welcome - whether you're new to the hobby or an experienced heavy gamer. All sorts of games will be played from gateway games like Carcassonne to heavyweight games like Oath. We hold weekly board gaming nights on Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights at Squarrel Cafe on Atlantic Avenue and 4th avenue. RSVPs close three hours before each event's start time. • If you are a regular attendee on an event's waitlist, post in our discord's #waitlisted channel to have your RSVP status changed. Please provide the name you use on meetup when doing this. • If you would like to bring a guest, they will require a separate RSVP to the meetup event. You can also post in our discord's #thursdays, #fridays, or #sundays channels (as appropriate) to let us know, but priority will always be given to event RSVPs. \Cancellations and No-Shows\*** • If you are no longer able to attend, that's no problem! Chicago Board Games Meetup is a weekly, board game meetup where board-gamers can explore the city - try new venues - and connect with fellow board game enthusiasts. Our group is evolving and we would love any feedback you have, so feel free to get in touch with us. • We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form, be it verbal, physical, online, or otherwise. This extends to incidents involving group members, yet outside of our events. -To that end, we do what we can as Hosts and Showrunner try to introduce ourselves to everyone. Respect each players individuality and allow everyone to make up their own minds during their turn. • If you think they’re making a mistake - ask if they want your opinion before offering it. • The group is intended for adults, the minimum age is 21 for the bar-centered meetups. • Request permission before taking photos that includes anyone's faces. • Respect each other, and observe basic hygiene (if you’re sick, don’t spread it). • Respect the venue, tidy up after yourself. If you moved a table, or chair, move it back. • Consent applies to board game communities too. You are not obliged to play games with people you do not enjoy playing games with. Bring your own games - or play someone elses! Feel free bring along any games you think we might enjoy, but you don't have to - there will be plenty to join in with! We often split into a few groups based on people's game preferences and numbers, and usually have plenty of time to try a few games over the course of the evening.
